ONE WEEK OUT FROM TRLA AND PDA SA ANNUAL SEMINAR

THIS YEAR AT EXQUISITE VICTOR HARBOUR, JUST AN HOUR OUT OF ADELAIDE.

26th – 28th August, McCracken Country Club, Victor Harbour SA

Organised by

Textile Rental Laundry Association SA Inc in

association with the Professional Drycleaning

Association of South Australia SA

Victor Harbor is located 80 kilometres, just under an hours drive, due south of Adelaide, South Australia. Victor Harbor is one of the most popular coastal playgrounds in South Australia and has been a favourite holiday destination with families since the late 1800s. The town overlooks the beautiful Encounter Bay with a coastline featuring the huge rock outcrop of The Bluff and the very popular Granite Island. The island is made special by having the world’s only daily Horse Drawn Tram service that began operating in 1886. Many visitors travelling from the eastern states along the Great Ocean Road access Victor Harbor by crossing the Murray River at Wellington. The proximity to Kangaroo Island, to the River Port of Goolwa and to the Southern Wine Region makes this a choice location to base a holiday. Encounter Bay is blessed with a classic Mediterranean climate that makes Victor Harbor a great destination all year round.

Activities

Golf at own cost

Take time out to enjoy a well-earned break on our 18 hole championship course.

Designed by renowned golf architect Tony Cashmore, McCracken Country Club’s international championship standard 18 hole course is one of more than 5 courses located on the Fleurieu Peninsula, and offers both guests staying at the resort and the public the opportunity to test their skills on this challenging, but rewarding layout.

Undulating fairways lead to manicured greens, amongst the picturesque hazards scattered throughout the course – 72 bunkers and 14 lakes & ponds which will sometimes be cause for even the best golfer to come unstuck. But when you do take the risk, it can be duly rewarded.

Big Duck Widlife Tour $60

at own cost

This breathtaking 90 minute tour departs from the Granite Island Causeway and cruises between the mainland and the northern side of Granite Island, affording spectacular views of both the Victor Harbor shoreline and the island.

Once past the breakwater The Big Duck picks up its pace. Seal Rock is the first stop, where New Zealand Fur Seals andAustralian Sea Lions bask in the sun between fishing forays and swimming out to the boat for a sticky-beak! Then on past the huge granite boulders of Wright Island and the Bluff, with Shark Alley in between where your guide talks about the whaling history of the area.

Many visitors to Victor Harbor never venture past Petrel Cove on the western side of The Bluff, but this is where passengers on The Big Duck are in for a real treat! West Island is a Conservation Park, complete with a research hut used by the universities and park rangers. From the back of the island another colony of seals and sea lions can be found basking onthe rocks and swimming in the shallows. Seabirds abound in this remotearea and often pods of Common and Bottlenose Dolphins can be spotted playing or feeding. The Big Duck heads further west past thedarkly spectacular cliffs of Kings Beach and Waitpinga before turning around and heading back to Granite Island Causeway.
