VALE – KEN TOWNSEND

0

Ken Townsend passed away peacefully this weekend. Marilyn, his wife of fifty nine years, was with him when he died. Ken was 83 years of age,

Ken originally came out to Australia with Initial Services in 1977 to Edwardstown, SA. He was moved to Initial Newtown NSW in 1980.  Initial moved him to Abbotsford, Victoria two years after that.

Following the threat of a further move his family revolted and he started Mess Kit Laundry in Dandenong.  Ken successfully ran that business for over thirty years until his retirement in 2019. Mess Kit is now run by his daughter, Alexis Townsend, his right hand for many years in the business.

A Church Service to commemorate his life was held at Frankston Church of Christ, 130 Cranbourne Road, Frankston on Friday 7th February. Donations to the Prostate Cancer Foundation  via this link

Alexis and Marilyn are doing fine, and are grateful to the wonderful hospital staff who cared for Ken in his final weeks.
