I am now in Atlanta, Georgia in the USA, at CleanShow 2015. Mr Brian Wallace, Chairman, officially opened the event on Thursday morning, flanked by representatives of the sponsoring associations. Walking the floor and speaking with exhibitors, drycleaners and launderers from across the globe has made for a very busy two days, with the weekend promising to be just as full on.
This is the first time in decades that Atlanta, Georgia, has hosted CleanShow, and they certainly haven’t lost their touch. Perhaps it is the improving American economy and it’s attendant optimism for the drycleaning and laundry industry, something is driving the attendance figures, which so far are up 5% on New Orleans in 2013. Everyone is holding their breath to see what sort of foot traffic the weekend brings.
Prior to CleanShow I was involved in a two day Workshop Meeting with CINET. Topics covered included Model for Best Practices Initiatives; Marketing Trends in Europe; How To Attract Customers To Your Shop Through The Right Presentation; Analysis of Business Cases in Textile Cleaning. Working Groups will discuss the wider industry aspects of Marketing; PR; Education and Training; Research and Technology, and the Launch of “The World of PTC: Vol 3”. (PTC stands for Professional Textile Care.) We also visited three drycleaning plants and two laundries, and I will report on this on my return to Australia.
It occurred to me, you might want information on some product, educational session or aspect of the CleanShow so I am inviting you to send me a note in the Comment box. I will certainly try to satisfy your curiosity.
