“Come and spend the day with our Trainers and Assessors Kerryn and John Wollington and the LDCT staff as they show you around our brand new premises.
And indeed it was a great day for the Australian laundry and dry cleaning industry when LDCT opened their state of the art Training School at Cardiff, a suburb of Newcastle.
DIA National President, George Massellos was on hand to speak of the investment and commitment which John and Kerryn Wollington have made and urged all dry cleaners to get onboard. DIA Ltd. CEO Brian Tonkin officially ‘cut the ribbon’ and declared the Training Facility open! It is wonderful to see the DIA get behind this industry resource.
Daniel Hays from Spencer Systems and his extended team, who were responsible for the very tidy installation, came in for special mention, and a broad section of industry people, staff, family and friends were on hand for a champagne and sausage luncheon, and a tour of the equipment and training rooms.
Kerryn noted launderers are actually leading student numbers at present, and in fact she and John had hardly closed the door on Sunday afternoon before packing to jet off to Darwin to carry out further Training.
This is a massive warehouse, equipped with audio visual teaching options in board rooms and training rooms. I believe once drycleaners realise the extent of the equipment available to them, everything from soaking baths through to washer extractors and tumblers, through spotting boards, drycleaning machines, and various finishing machines, plus a large boiler, they will appreciate this is a magnificent resource. The LDCT website and facebook page have a wealth of information about training courses.
You can see a full photographic record of the event on the “National” facebook page.
