We are saddened to hear that Bevan Ritchie’s Dad Bill passed away on 17th September. Belinda sent out the notification to all Apparelmaster members but those of you who aren’t in Apparelmaster might like to know when the service is and to pass on your condolences to the Ritchie family, many of you would know Bill. TCF has already sent flowers on behalf of members. Below is some of Belinda’s message received Tuesday:
It is with great sadness that I write this on behalf of Bevan and his family. Some of you may have already heard that Captain Grandad Bill Ritchie passed away last night (Monday). He put up a darn good fight and was surrounded by his loving family of whom he was especially proud, and they of him.
Bevan wanted me to pass on to you all, that Bill spoke about how incredibly proud he was of those in the Apparelmaster family, not just as successful Apparelmaster business owners but as people – kind, generous, hardworking, respectful loving people – a great family. Apparelmaster was much more than a business to him, he loved it and Bevan plans to carry on and honour his legacy.
Bill’s funeral is this Saturday at 12 midday at Waikanae Funeral Home, 17 Parata Street, Waikanae 5036.
He is at home, 67 Nimmo Ave East, Waikanae.
Everyone is welcome to come and pay their respects at any time.
If you wish to send a donation in lieu of flowers please forward these to the Mary Potter Hospice. The team there were wonderful in caring for Bill and supporting the family. (Mary Potter Hospice: firstname.lastname@example.org or +64 4 801 0006 for details).
Belinda has shared the following from the book “Apparelmaster NZ – The First 40 years 1978-2018” for those interested in knowing more about how Bill has help to shape the industry over the years.
